More than half of landlords are concerned about regulation of the buy-to-let sector, new research shows.
In news that might interest conveyancing solicitors in Manchester, a survey conducted by Paragon Mortgages found that 58 per cent of landlords are chiefly concerned about the amount of legislation governing the buy-to-let sector.
Around 37 per cent of landlords said they are worried about how they will fund property purchases in 2010, while 32 per cent are worried about retaining tenants.
Under a third (31 per cent) said they are concerned about how to find tenants in the first place, while 24 per cent are worried about meeting mortgage payments.
Alan Ward, chairman of the Residential Landlords Association, said the enforcement of regulations relating to the buy-to-let sector needs to be managed much more efficiently.
'To enable local authorities to achieve the targets set by government, they have harassed the generally well-meaning majority of landlords,' he said.
Private sector landlords currently have to adhere to around 50 Acts of Parliaments and 70 sets of regulation.
