Donovan Newton Solicitors was established in 2003 and specialises exclusively in mental health and mental capacity law. We advise and represent clients in Mental Health Act matters, including tribunal representation and hospital managers' reviews, as well as in mental capacity cases such as deprivation of liberty safeguards, best interests disputes and care placement disagreements.
We act for patients and their nearest relatives, and we hold a Legal Aid Agency contract for mental health work, so we can offer legal aid representation to those who are eligible. With offices across Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, Coventry and Lincoln, we cover clients throughout the Midlands and East Midlands, and we also provide comprehensive advice on aftercare following discharge from hospital.
