Granville-West Chivers & Morgan

Our story starts in 1904, when Harold Saunders founded the firm. D. Granville West joined in 1924 to serve his articles, set up his own practice in Newbridge in 1929, and took over the Saunders practice in Pontypool in 1943. After the war, Emrys Chivers became a partner, and the firm became D. Granville West and Chivers; D. Francis Dunford joined around 1950 and left in 1962 to become a Judge; and when Ronald E. Y. Morgan returned as a partner in 1966, the practice took the name it still carries today. We opened our Risca office in 1980 and Abertillery in 1987, and we later took over the practice of G. Edward Williams and Son to strengthen our presence in the Gwent valleys.

Over the past century, the practice has seen many changes. Still, we have continued serving the people of these valleys in the same way, keeping traditional standards of service and efficiency while making the most of what new technology has to offer. We are a respected practice in our areas of expertise, and we take pride and care in giving an efficient yet personal service. We place great emphasis on positive, practical solutions whatever the legal issue, our advice is always clear and comprehensive, and we know our clients need us to be open and approachable. It is no coincidence that so much of our work comes from clients returning time after time, or from recommendations by others we have helped. We also provide free or reduced-rate services to several charities, churches and institutions in the area.
