JWP Solicitors

We are JWP Solicitors, specialist local solicitors serving West Yorkshire and the whole of the North of England.

We work from seven offices, with our head office in Wakefield and further offices in Pontefract, Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford, plus appointment-only offices in Hemsworth and at the Al-Hikmah Centre in Batley. That spread matters, because a good deal of what we do is urgent and people need to be able to reach us quickly.

Every one of our solicitors is a specialist in their field rather than a generalist, and we give advice that is clear and concise without ever being cold about it. Many of the people who come to us are going through the hardest period of their lives, and we do not forget that.

We have a strong criminal defence practice covering the police station, the magistrates court and the Crown Court, alongside a road traffic team defending the full range of driving allegations.

Our family and child care teams advise on divorce, finances, arrangements for children, domestic abuse and separation, and handle childcare proceedings, special guardianship orders, adoption and adoption breakdown.

For private clients, we prepare wills and lasting powers of attorney, deal with probate, act in deputyship and Court of Protection applications, and advise on care home fee planning and inheritance tax.
