Laker Legal Solicitors is a private client and property firm with more than 100 years of combined experience across the team. We work from offices in Lancaster, Preston, York, Kings Hill, Bath and Maidstone, and we act for clients across the country.

We take the time to explain exactly what is happening throughout your case, and we publish fixed fees for most of our work so that you know the cost before you instruct us.

Our family team advises on divorce and dissolution, financial settlements, children law, cohabitation agreements, pre-nuptial and separation agreements, and domestic violence, acting quickly to apply to the court where protection is needed. Founding director Richard Hirst is an accredited mediator and can be instructed directly by both parties.

Our private client team writes wills, arranges lasting powers of attorney and handles probate and intestacy. We also act in contentious probate, including inheritance claims, will rectification, the removal of executors, breach of trust and negligence in the drafting of a will.

For property, we handle residential sales and purchases and commercial property, and we hold the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation. We also prepare settlement agreements.
