Ashley Maples opened this practice in Spalding in the late 1820s, and we have been looking after South Lincolnshire ever since. The firm stayed in the Maples family for five generations, and although that line ended in 1977, the habits it built have not: continuity, care, and knowing the people and the land we act for. Many of our farming clients are the fourth or fifth generation of their family to instruct us.

Almost two hundred years on, we are a good deal larger than Ashley Maples would recognise, with a second office opened in Doncaster in 2022, but we have deliberately kept the things that made the firm worth using. You will deal with a person rather than a department, we will explain matters in ordinary language, and our fees are published so you can see what something costs before you commit to it.

We hold Lexcel and Conveyancing Quality accreditation, and we are members of Resolution. Our own roots here run deep: our offices housed the Spalding Registry Office until 2005, and we have long associations with the district council, the grammar school and a number of local charities.
