Martyn Prowel Gartsides is the coming together of two long-standing South Wales practices. Gartsides was founded in Newport in 1956 and grew across the region through the 1970s; Martyn Prowel was established in Cardiff in 1996 by three former partners of Hallinans. Between them, that is well over sixty years of looking after the same communities, and a good many of our clients are the second or third generation of their family to use us.

We work from five offices, in Cardiff, Newport, Abergavenny, Bridgend and Ebbw Vale, which means we are usually within reach wherever in the region you are. We aim to be large enough to offer proper specialists and small enough that you can still get hold of the person handling your matter, and we hold Lexcel accreditation and appear in the Legal 500. We are also a franchised Legal Aid Agency provider, which matters a great deal to the people it matters to.

What we offer is complete, professional and compassionate guidance. Those three words are on our own front door for a reason: a great deal of what people come to us with is frightening or upsetting, and being technically right is only half the job.
