Mills & Reeve

Mills and Reeve began twice. In 1789, a twenty-four-year-old solicitor called Christopher Pemberton set up in Cambridge, in the practice that became Francis and Co. In 1880 Henry Mills and Edmund Reeve founded Mills and Reeve in Norwich. The two firms merged in 1987, and that is the firm we are now.

One thread runs the whole way through. We began acting for Trinity College, Cambridge in 1861, and we still do. Alongside that continuity we have grown into a national firm of around 1,400 people working from seven offices, at London, Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester, Norwich and Oxford.

We act for enterprises, for individuals and for families, and we are ranked by the Legal 500 and by Chambers across a wide range of that work. We are also a Platinum Investor in People, and the Financial Times has listed us among the fifty most innovative law firms in Europe. Those two things are related: firms that look after their own people tend to be the ones that can look after yours.
