Butcher & Barlow is a law firm that has been supporting clients across the North West of England for a long time. With eleven offices and 160 experienced staff members, we aim to be an extension of your business, or a life-long friend, guiding you through the complexities of life and sharing the load when it comes to making big decisions.

Founded in 1887 by John Woodward Barlow and Samuel Foster Butcher, the Firm played an important role in supporting industrial concerns of the 19th and 20th centuries within Bury and the surrounding areas. Over the 130 years of impressive history, Butcher & Barlow has taken over a number of practises to expand its offering.

In 2014, the Firm opened a dedicated Commercial and Agricultural office on Gadbrook Park, Northwich to provide a focused team which can advise and assist on commercial and agricultural matters in a professional, business centred setting. The following year, Butcher & Barlow extended their head office in Bury, to reunite the family department who has been located elsewhere in the town with the rest of the Bury team.
